Inter-Railing | Travel Diary 2014.

On the 1st of July 2014, Alex and I did something very different to what we would normally do. We departed on our 2 week Inter-railing trip. It was our third holiday together (first being a week in Crete, second being a week in Turkey) and we wanted to do something totally different to the norm but also get a taster for 'life on the road'. What better way than a 2 week travelling trip in Europe (close to home) to give you a taste of what travelling abroad might be like. We always had a big travelling trip in our books so this was going to be a great experience for us.
It took us around 5 months to plan (around attending uni and never being in the same room to plan!!) so when the time finally came we were soo excited! I have to say the trip taught me a whole different level of independence, it showed me how much trust I could put into someone and it showed me that I completely love seeing the world. If you've always wanted to travel but you're scared or worried to leave home then I would recommend Inter-railing. It's a lot closer to home, resulting in cheaper flights if you do panic and want to come home but it can also be as long or as short as you want.

First stop- Brussels!

Such an incredible lunch! I tried fruit beer for the first time and it was incredible- like drinking juice! We then walked around and enjoyed a delicious waffle!

The famous Manneken Pis who was dressed up for us!

Amsterdam!

Pedalo's!

Berlin!

The most delicious Currywurst!

On the journey.

Prague!

Without realizing we ended up eating in a 5 star restaurant!

Prague was so beautiful it was difficult not to upload every single photo.

Munich!

Augustiner resturant.

Hofbrauhaus!

You wouldn't believe 15 minutes after this was taken it absolutely packed out and there was a band playing some awesome music.

Vienna!

A nice hearty breakfast to start the day. Alex had muesli and yogurt with fruit (not photographed) and myself the most delicious croissant (again not photographed), accompanied with coffee and juice.

Lunch stop at Rathaus.

Budapest!

Journey to Zagreb!

Zagreb!

Our incredible room- the nicest one we'd been in on the trip!

Pula!

Bled- Slovenia!

Venice!

Milan!

Funny story- I desperately needed the toilet so we walked down a small alley way to what looked like a place I could just use the loo and leave. However, when we entered we realised we had definitely entered something so much more. Everyone was in a suit and the setting was all black and dark. We figured lets have a coffee so I don't look too dodgy. Later that evening I googled the place and it turns out it was a martini bar by Dolce&Gabbana.

Florence!

The most incredible pizza ever!

Pisa!

Rome!

G.Fassi- THE most incredible ice cream I've had the pleasure of trying!

Rome has a wonderful culture with so much to see! It's very rich with history we ended up taking over 400 photos so you can imagine whittling it down to just a few was hard.

The Vatican!

If you've made it down this far congratulations. I hope you've enjoyed this post and if you have any questions please ask I would love to help.
xx
